I am facing low brightness issue while watching hdr content on OTT apps (amazon prime, hotstar, netflix) on my S23. When increasing brightness it goes well till 50 percent but after that brightness does not increase. Please suggest me solution for that. That is like deal breaker for me

Same issue with my s23. I posted the same but no resolution from samsung team. We r just paying our hard earned money for good experience but some times company failed to full fill that. Even mid range phone are having great multimedia experience with FULL HDR Control. I have so many smart phone but i don't don't know why this issue ia still present for a long period since the launce of s23. Please samsung resolve that problem. We have higer expectations from your devices. Please please please @samsung look into this issue and resolve as soon as possible.

Go to settings, advanced setting & toggle video brightness (Normal & bright) and see if that makes any difference.

Please click three dots and accept the solution if your issue gets resolved.Screenshot_20231107_234010_Settings.jpgScreenshot_20231107_234017_Settings.jpg

I use iPhone 14 pro & S23, I keep comparing it after every monthly Android update & after every update on iPhone along with random Android & iOS Amazon, Hotstar & Netflix app updates. Hence said not facing any issues.

Yes, there was some issue with Amazon app not being completely black where there was no video and I posted it on Twitter and they immediately fixed the issue. It was an issue from Amazon side & not an issue from SAMSUNG.

There was also an issue from Samsung related to Widevine L1 support switching to L3 after every monthly update which I posted on members forum & Samsung fixed that issue as well from 5.1 September update onwards.

So yes, I don't comment on Members forum without doing my homework ;) Screenshot_20231108_013837_X.jpg

Yep, having the same issue on my S23 Ultra. Tried every troubleshooting(by Samsung themselves) down to factory reset and still nothing works.

This isn't an app issue at all. It's an adaptive/auto brightness bug that kicks in even(though it is off) whenever you watch HDR content on any Streaming apps or video player for downloaded content. Try shinning a flashlight onto your front camera when watching HDR content, you will see the screen gets really bright then will dims back down again and again adaptive brightness is off. This doesn't happen in SDR and SDR is way way brighter than HDR.

So basically any OTT app that controls the device brightness and in HDR only, this adaptive brightness bug messes up HDR brightness up.
