I've been using the battery protection mode which stops charging in 80% of charging. I want to know, how long I can use the battery protection mode? I am using the Samsung galaxy S23 ultra phone for 1 year

You can keep using Battery Protection (80% limit) for as long as you want – there’s no restriction on time. In fact, it’s one of the best ways to maintain your battery health in the long run.

Lithium-ion batteries degrade over charge cycles, especially when frequently charged to 100%. By keeping your phone at 80% max charge, you reduce stress on the battery, which slows down capacity loss.

Since you’ve already been using it for a year on your S23 Ultra, your battery is likely in better condition than if you charged to 100% daily. Many users (including long-term testers) keep this feature enabled for the entire life of their device with no issues.

Hi,

It is actually your choice how long you want to use the Battery protection feature. It will protect your battery health.

However, I have recently visited Samsung service center to replace my battery. They informed me that Samsung is recommending to change battery by 3yrs. Infact, I did get it replaced after 5yrs of usage and during this period no battery protection was active.

Now, post replacement, I have activated the feature and set it at 95%. Let's see how it goes. 😊

You can continue using Battery Protection (80% charging limit) for as long as you’d like—there are no time restrictions on this feature.
