Hello there battery drain and heating issues are common in samsung phones after a major update. The reasons are as follows

1. Even after your phones turns on after completing updates, it's still not completely don't with the task and keep doing it in background., hence excessive battery drain and heating issue. Once phone heats up it thermal throttles and pauses background tasks to help the phone cool down so its still not complete and it trys again later causes phone heat up again. For this what I do is reboot my phone a few times which helps speed up this process of background optimisation and also helps clear temporary files.

2. 2nd most common reason is a few files and processes of previous version of OS is still in catche memory which keeps conflicting with new OS files causing slowdown and heating., for this issue I boot my phone in recovery mode, then go and clear catche memory. After this it takes some time to load some apps but heating issue and battery drain and sluggish behavior of your phone should be fixed. If this doesn't fix the issue then you need a factory reset for your device.

3. Samsung phones in general as for as the devices I have used are bad at thermal management. Especially in summer season when ambient temperature in india is 35 degree to 42 degree makes heat deception a nightmare for these phones., try to remove you phone case during heat use and charging to help phone to cool down faster.

Hope this helps you with your issues

The temperature of my region is always below 30 degrees. After seeing your comment, I waited seven days for the background processes to complete, but there is still no improvement in the battery draining issues.

I got my S22ultra updated, im using a pre-booking device. So my battery is pretty worn out. I have got battery replacement prompts couple of times already on previous OS version.
I don't see considerable drop in battery life in oneui7 compared to 6.1, i have seen my phone gets hot during restarts occasionally, but it settles in 2 to 5 mins

It doesn't mean the S24 doesn't see any considerable drops in battery life. Both devices are different.

There are so many users claiming that they also face the same issues.
