Dear Samsung Member,

Greetings from Samsung Customer Support!

As per your concern, we want to inform you that the automatic deletion of contacts on your Galaxy device may happen if you use the same Google Account on multiple devices or have the 'Automatically backup & sync device contacts' function enabled.

To prevent this, you can block contact synchronization with other devices by signing out of all unused devices. Here's how:

1. On your Samsung device, go to Settings > Google > Manage your Google Account > Security > Your devices. Then, sign out of all unused devices.

2. Alternatively, go to Settings > Google > Settings for Google apps > Google Contacts sync and turn off the ‘Automatically back up & sync device contacts’ function.

Deleted contacts can be recovered, but the timeframe depends on the method used. You can recover contacts within 30 days using the Google website or within 15 days using your Samsung device's Trash folder.

Here's how to recover your deleted contacts:

Google Website (for contacts deleted within the last 30 days):

Option 1: Undo Changes.

⁕ Access https://contacts.google.com/ on your computer.

⁕ At the top right, click Settings and then Undo changes.

⁕ Choose a time to go back to and click Confirm.

Option 2: Recover from Trash:

⁕ Access https://contacts.google.com/ on your computer.

⁕ On the left side, click Trash.

⁕ At the top, click Recover.

Samsung Device (for contacts deleted within the last 15 days):
1. Open the ‘Contacts’ app on your Samsung device.
2. Go to the More menu (usually a three-dot icon).
3. Select Trash.
4. Tap Edit.
5. Select the contact lists you want to restore.
6. Click ‘Restore all’.

⁕ To view all your contacts or only those linked to a specific Google Account:
1. Open the ‘Contacts’ app.
2. Go to the navigation menu.
3. Select the ‘All contacts’ tab or choose one of your Google Accounts.

However regarding the WhatsApp issue, kindly report the problems with a log file. To share a log file, click on the Samsung Members Application (Open Samsung Members Application > Support> Tap on send feedback> Choose Composer> Select error report> select the appropriate issue category> Type your query and send).

Warm Regards,
Samsung Customer Support
