After installing the April 5, 2026 security patch, my Galaxy S25 Ultra has been experiencing rapid battery drain, overheating, and frequent app crashes. Some apps also fail to open.

Is anyone facing same issue?

Yes, some users do report temporary issues like battery drain, heating, and app crashes right after a major security update (including me on my A36 5G), it’s usually due to background optimization and app re-indexing. Give it 2–3 days to stabilize; meanwhile, try clearing cache (recovery mode), updating all apps from Galaxy Store/Play Store, and checking for any misbehaving apps. If the issue persists, consider resetting app preferences or doing a factory reset as a last resort.

As of feb security update samsung removed clearing cache via recovery mode as there is no option there now, do you know any other way to do that

You’re right, since the recovery cache option is gone, there’s no exact system-wide alternative anymore. The closest you can do is clear cache per app (Settings → Apps → Storage → Clear cache), run Galaxy App Booster (Good Guardians) to rebuild/optimize apps, and wipe cache for system apps like Google Play Services, One UI Home, and Device Care. If issues still persist, a factory reset is the only way to fully refresh system-level cache.
