Galaxy SIt’s easy for Samsung to say "just reset your phone," but for users, especially professionals with multiple authentication and work-related apps, it's a major hassle.
We paid for the device and its updates — why should we suffer for their faulty software push?
🔹 Resetting isn’t a real solution; it’s a workaround
🔹 Data loss and time waste is a serious concern
🔹 Not everyone can afford to go through hours of reconfiguration just like that
Samsung needs to take full responsibility for such post-update issues without asking users to do a reset every time.
👉 If more users mark helpful replies as “Accepted Solution” (3-dot menu), it shows Samsung that this is a serious concern and not an isolated case.
We stand with you — this should not be the user’s burden.

Galaxy SDear Samsung Member,
Greetings from Samsung Customer Support!
At Samsung, we always aim to provide impeccable services to our customers, and we highly regret that you feel this way.
Please follow these easy troubleshooting steps which may help in resolving this issue.
● Kindly check if the device's touch screen is physically damaged: The phone touch screen could stop working due to physical damage.
● Physical damage: The touch screen is broken or damaged. High temperature, cold, moisture, magnets, and static electricity can all damage the touchscreen of Android phones. If your screen is damaged, you need to carry your device with its ''original accessories'' to the ''Samsung authorized service center''.
If your screen is not damaged, Restart the phone by pressing the Power button and then tap on Restart.
Note: If you use the Fingerprint security feature, the phone will require your backup password to unlock after rebooting.
● Review touchscreen tips and tricks. Certain factors may affect how well the touchscreen on your device performs. Please keep the following in mind when using the touchscreen:
•If a third-party screen protector or accessory is attached, the touchscreen may not work properly. In particular, it may not work well if there is dust or air under the protector, if two or more protective films are attached to the screen, or if the protective film is peeling near the edge of the screen. Remove the screen protector or film if it is peeling or has debris underneath it. If you are keeping the screen protector or film, you can enable the touch sensitivity option to help with taps and touches. Open Settings, then tap Display, and then tap the switch next to Touch sensitivity.
•The touchscreen may not work properly if you wear gloves, have dust on your finger, or touch the screen with fingernails or a ballpoint pen. It may also not work if a conductive object, such as a coin or key, is close to the screen.
•If the screen is wet, the touch sensor may not work properly. Even for waterproof models, some touch functions may not work if the product is used in water. Gently wipe the front and back of your device using a lint-free, soft microfiber cleaning cloth or a camera lens cleaning cloth. Do not apply too much pressure when cleaning the device.
•If you are having issues with the S Pen, refer to our S Pen troubleshooting.
● Restart your device. Restarting your device can help solve minor issues. Restarting will vary depending on the model:
•On devices with a Power button: Press and hold the Power button, and then tap Restart. Tap Restart again to restart your device.
•On devices with a Side button: Using two fingers, swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Quick settings panel. Tap the Power icon, and then tap Restart. Tap Restart again to restart your device.
If the touchscreen is not working at all, you can restart your device by pressing and holding the Volume down button and the Power button (or Side button) simultaneously for 10 seconds. Tap Restart, and then tap Restart again to confirm. Once it turns off, you can turn your device back on by pressing the Power button or Side button again.
● Check your charger. If your charger is damaged, it may not supply power to your device, which may cause the touch screen to malfunction. In this case, use a different, undamaged charger to prevent this issue. It’s also a good idea to avoid using the touchscreen when the device is charging.
Note: To complete Steps 4 through 6, you can try connecting your device to a computer or monitor. This will allow you to navigate the device even if the touchscreen isn’t working.
● Disable gestures: When using the full screen gesture function, touch input may not be possible because the touch is recognized as a gesture. To stop this from happening, disable the full screen gesture function. Open Settings, tap Display and then tap Navigation bar. Tap Buttons to disable full screen gestures.
● Disable Touch sensitivity: If the Touch sensitivity setting is turned on when no protective film is used, the touchscreen may respond too sensitively and therefore malfunction. To disable the Touch sensitivity feature, navigate to Settings, tap Display, and then tap the switch next to Touch sensitivity to turn it off.
For fingerprint issue kindly follow the bellow steps:
● Ensure that your fingers are clean and dry.
Note: If the skin on your fingertips is peeling or cracking, or your fingerprint is difficult to capture, the fingerprint ID on your phone may not work.
● If your fingerprints fail to unlock the phone while the phone is recharging, remove it from the charger and try again. If you are charging the phone with a charger and data cable from other brands when you use fingerprints to unlock the phone, they may interfere with the fingerprint sensor and cause the recognition to fail.
● Clean the fingerprint sensor with a soft cloth. Make sure the fingerprint sensor is dry and free from any debris that may cause the sensor to be unable to recognize the fingerprint.
● Remove the current fingerprint and set up the fingerprint again. When you touch the sensor to set up a fingerprint, make sure you set the entire fingerprint, including the outer area of your fingertip. Setting the entire fingerprint area enables successful fingerprint recognition with any grip.
● How to remove Fingerprint: Path: Settings> Biometrics and Security> Fingerprints> Fingerprint1> Remove> Remove again to confirm.
● How to Set up Fingerprint: Path: Settings>Biometrics and Security> Fingerprints> Fingerprint> Scan your fingerprint> Place your finger on the sensor, then lift it off when you feel a vibration> Continue> Reposition your finger each time to capture the edge of your fingerprint> Done> Fingerprint added successfully.
● Perform a factory data reset. Resetting your device to factory defaults should only be used as a last resort and after trying the previous steps. A factory data reset will remove all data and content from your device. Before performing a factory reset, be sure to back up your personal data, so you don't lose it all.
Path: Navigate to and open Settings, then tap General management, and then tap Reset. Tap Factory data reset, then swipe to and tap Reset, and then tap Delete all. Enter your Samsung account credentials to complete the reset; your device will reset, and you will need to perform the initial setup process.
After performing the troubleshooting steps, if the issue still persists, kindly get back to us with additional information in device log file within 15 minutes of the issue occurrence by using the error report option via the Samsung Member application.
To share a log file, click on Samsung Member's Application (Open Samsung member application >> tap on support >> tap on send feedback >> choose composer option >> select error >> select the appropriate category >> type your query)
Warm Regards,
Samsung Customer Support
