Galaxy Noteoneplus got optical scanners which used 2D mapping of fingers so they're fast but less secure.
Samsung uses ultrasonic scanners in their flagships and optical scanners in budget friendly devices.
Ultrasonic scanners are 3D scanners which is slow and more secure.
If you use tempered glass then you will face difficulties in using ultrasonic scanners and you need to add fingerprints each time after installing or removing screen protection.
I don't use tempered glass on my device and the scanners are fast ,don't requires hard press.
You need to add fingerprints in similar fashion you're using your device.
Without screen protectors I can't see much difference in speed between these two types.
But with screen protectors ultrasonic scanners lags behind optical ones.
