Why are you so bothered about free RAM? Having unused RAM is just wastage. Your phone will free up required space on RAM when you need it.

i think it never free it up..i dont bother about ram....i dont need to glorify note 8 or criticize it..i just shared what i experienced..water resistance doesnt matter me a lot..i havebeen using phines for some years now..and by luck none of my phones damaged becoz of water..so i dont give imp for it..i expected only performance ..that to normal perfoemance..i not not a gamer..i just have normal use..i dont feel a diff between midrange and flagship..even note 8 lags while using basic features...but i love the display..its awesome

just wait for oreo update for note 8 it will surely become on of the fastest phones with 8.0 and samsung exp 9.0 as of now yes samsung has all the features present in nougat more than any other phn present in the market but major software updates provide performance improvements as well as optimization

l don't know why people are crazy. I can't remember when Samsung introduced "multi window". it was years back. And it came to android only with Nougat. Still the only feature that I'm waiting in Oreo is Picture in Picture. Samsung is way ahead in providing maximun features. And regarding security patches. that is another gimmick by google. to make their customers feel that they are getting some support. Samsung has the biggest fleet of devices. They wouldnt care if me or you stop using Samsung. They will not be able to practically provide new OS update like Google. People talk about Oneplus giving latest software very fast. Oneplus has just two phones a year. And the number of sales is much lesser than the sales of S series and Note series. So to serve these many devices, it will take time for Samsung. And Oreo is not going to increase any usability than nougat
