Samsung doesn’t give more than 2 major (Android) OS upgrades to its smartphones and the Galaxy Note 8 and S8 series have already received the Android Oreo and Android Pie update. They were launched with Android Nougat.So you don't get the updates...

Samsung policy is to given two OS upgrades for their devices, given S8 has received Oreo and Pie OS update, they will not be receiving Android 10 update
