note 8 Pie Update laggy

After I update my note 8 to pie, apps have became laggy. Do I need to factory reset the phone after a OS upgrade?
Also I lost some of the S Pen features, when I hover S pen over any message in the messages app, no preview of that message is shown in a pop up, also in my files, if  I hover s pen on any folder containing images, no image previews are shown, only icons are showing. What the hell Samsung? Why do you take out features over a OS upgrade? See the images below.

ideally it would be a good practice to hard reset your phone after a major update. it may solve many or all of your problems
