Don't know whether this problem is prevailing I India itself or not. Previously I could verify credit/debit cards right after adding them to my wallet in order to pay via tap/NFC. Since recently, after adding a card, and when I Tap on verify, I get a message saying card verification failed.
As a result it is causing an inconvenience as I cannot use Samsung wallet to tap and pay using my cards. Does anyone have a way to deal with this problem?

Remove the failed card, if you're using any Galaxy watch where the same card is configured, remove it from the watch too.

Then try again adding the card.

Also, make sure that necessary options are enabled in the card. E. G. PoS transaction, confirm the limit etc..

And try again.

I had faced bit similar problem while adding my new SBI SimplySAVE Credit card to my phone.
After hell lot of communications and escalations, the issue was resolved from the sbi technical team.

What kind of problems did u face? I am also trying to add a SBI SimplySAVE credit card. I am trying to verify but not receiving any OTP

I ALSO FACED THE SAME PROBLEM IN MY CITIBANK CARD IN MY A73 AND GALAXY WATCH 6......AFTER NUMEROUS MAILS AND ESCALATIONS TO CITIBANK I WAS ABLE TO ADD.......ONLY IN SOME BANKS THIS PROBLEM OCCURS
