I have galaxy note 8 , galaxy s6 and iPhone 6 

The galaxy phone stopped software update after 2 updates and the iPhone was still updating till ios13 

And other mid range phones and budget galaxy phones are getting the latest updates ? 

What is the benefit of using flagship spending large money ?

It seems you have not been reading much. Note 8 is no longer flagship and you will not get anymore updates. Either upgrade or live with it. FYI even note 9 is now part of archives and will not get anymore updated except security patches. You cannot compare apples and oranges. Both google and Samsung has decided to follow policy of 2 major update policy. So you got Oreo and Pie. cheers

cheers to you . note 8 is also the flagship phone ,it's not the thing that when s20 comes s10 goes out of the race .we choose phones according to the updates features and security.

hey bro apple give update for making phone slower so that user upgrade to new one and Samsung give update according to hardware because of making phone life better

samsung seems to be doing the same with note 9... after latest security update a lot of note 9 users have been reporting a issue of screen discoloration.

the fact behind being slower is not that much practical . many YouTubers and phone reviewers speak about benchmark values which don't affect that much in real life .
