It's called black crush id gradient banding. I'm facing the same on my S9 Plus. Basically the darks must have turned patchy or pixelated. Mostly under low brightness conditions.

The screen issue has cropped up after march update. It is a fact and there are many articles about it.

Samsung should come up with a stable update of One UI 2.0. or may be 2.1.
What say mapledew, Will the S Series get the 2.1 update? You're the only pro to question.

well hard to say right now because never says anything about updates I got 2.1 on 4th April

most of times the gradient banding and black crush is common in oled panels and is software based so maybe the fix given in above link could alive and let u know what exactly it is

I've tried the screen balance app, solves the patchiness to a extend. But turns the blacks to Grays and all beautiful colours faded. And moreover, I have to face an orangish/peachis screen colour the whole day...

and yes at least post a screenshot with problem clearly visible i mean when u see problem then click screenshot so it'll help is better to help u👍👍👍👍👍

broh in the screenshot or screenrecord it looks completely normal when viewed on other mobiles
