Thank you for being with Samsung and sharing your concern. We would like to inform you that you can use the out-of-focus effect to make specific objects stand out in a photo by focusing on a subject.
1 On the preview screen, swipe upwards or downwards, or tap to switch to the front
camera for self-portraits.
2 On the shooting modes list, tap Selective focus.
3 Tap the image on the preview screen where the front camera should focus
Be sure to hit ♡ when you find an answer that works for you.

with all due respect admin ....

Issue is not abt how to use selective focus mode...

Issue is selective focus mode doesn't do its job consistently...

If one use selective focus mode even in good lighting and same position...

its works 1 or 2 times out of 10..

I have tried factory reset as well as safe mode .. issue remain same.

there is this message which get display when one try to use selective focus mode and it fails to do its job

" Couldn't Apply Focus contrast. Unable to find subject "

Its frustrating when i use this mode under same lighting and position , some time it works fine but other time it fails and display above msg.

failure rate is more than success rate for this mode.

Algorithm/Software must be refined and tuned to work this mode effectively.
