I updated to Android 12 / OneUI 4.0 and now I have problems. Here are the bugs I noticed so far:

1. Network randomly disconnects both SIMs for 30 to 40 seconds

Every now and then, both my SIMs will disconnect network, data and calls, VoLTE, 4G as well as 🚫 instead of 📶 network bars, just for a few seconds, then it goes back to normal. I have no idea what makes this happen, it happens completely at random, I can't really reproduce the issue at will. If I'm speaking to someone when it happens, the phone reboots.

2. Fingerprint dialog lag

The fingerprint sensor is kind of late by 1.5 to 2 seconds. If an app requires my fingerprint, there's a small lag before the fingerprint screen comes on. It was always instant before.

3. Emoji keyboard unnecessarily 'improved'

Samsung keyboard has moved the Enter and backspace keys on the emoji keyboard, and that's really annoying, since I was used to having them like that for so many years. No way to edit on keys cafe.

4. Finder lag

If you open finder after a couple of hours, there's a lag before the results show up. For 2 seconds it will say 'no results' then it'll show the results. Annoying as hell, never happened before.

5. Samsung keyboard emoji key

The emoji key on the Samsung keyboard is just a white circle instead of the smiley it used to be. Not a big deal, but annoying, nonetheless.

6. Heavy OneUI Home battery usage

OneUI Home uses up 7 to 10 percent of battery, as compared to the previous 1 to 3 percent.

7. Formatting not working

WhatsApp, Samsung members and some other apps can no longer format text as bold, underlined, italics, etc. The formatting marks show, but the text remains the same.

8. Facebook name tagging doesn't work

If you tag someone by name on Facebook, you'll see the text turn blue, but when you submit the post, the tag will be removed.

9. Erratic spelling and grammar mistake marking

I love that they included Grammarly into Samsung keyboard, but it's not consistent. Spelling and grammar check is absent in some apps, with no mistakes marked. Samsung Members, for example. No green or red underlines on mistakes.

10. Erratic Power Saver

Power saving mode seems to come on randomly, for no reason, even with adaptive power disabled. It turns off AoD when it happens, several times a day. Sometimes even when the battery is 90 percent plus, or while charging. Annoying.

11. Random clipboard toast when unlocking

In case you don't know what a toast is, it's the small gray box with helpful information that pops up and then goes away at the bottom of the screen. Every time I unlock, a toast comes up that says 'Item already on clipboard'. Can't find what's doing it and why.

12. S Pen Air Actions still broken

One of the older security updates broke my S Pen connectivity for air gestures. This happened to thousands of people worldwide without reason. The S Pen just refused to connect. I was expecting a fix with this update, but no
joy. So my super S Pen is still limited to being a normal old S Pen, restricted to operations within an inch of the screen.

Anyone faced and/ or solved these issues? Anyone encounter any other issues?

Thank you!

- I discovered an issue with the S-view flip cover, it'll detect you've closed the cover but sometimes when it times out, it'll go to the normal always on display instead of the smart view always on display. Seems to happen 50% of the time.

- I discovered that sometimes when you open the flip cover, the brightness will be at 100%. Closing it and reopening it will restore your previous brightness setting.

- Sometimes when pressing and holding to select a word for correction, the blue bookends will remain even after moving your cursor back to the end, or even leaving the app.

All these didn't happen in Android 11 but now happen in Android 12.

I am also experiencing screen resolution issues after I updated to android 12; the screen always goes dim with faint lines on it like it is faulty when ever the screen goes off and on immediately.

Same here but I think it was the preceding security update that did the damage. I then tried Android update but it did not fix it. Workaround (horrible) turn off adaptive and set brightness to max. Still blurry but readable. Not what I expected from top of the line Note 10+ 5G but apparently this is a long term issue. Certain it is a software issue because: -

1. Phone was perfect before update

2. Initial SAMSUNG splash is bright and clear then turns green as Android/Drivers start.

Just out of warranty....

Yes, my phone has issues as well, even after restarting multiple times. My cell carrier even deleted the cache & something else trying to help.

1. S Pen won't reconnect.

2. When I use the pull down feature, on the home screen, it is blank until I get to the notifications. So I can't quickly access the screen brightness, bluetooth, secure folder, etc.

3. Some web page screens get stuck & won't scroll down any further. I notice more with emails (gmail & ymail). Previously, with my Gmail account, the screen was jumpy & moved while I typed. Random text appeared when I tried to type. It was like someone took over my keyboard. I haven't had that issue in last 2/3 weeks though...

4. Battery drains quicker.

5. Sometimes, incoming & outgoing calls don't show on the screen correctly. It seems to take longer for calls to connect.

All my issues sorted themselves out after the next update. Everything working perfectly now. I would suggest a factory reset.

WRT your s pen, the battery on your s pen is knackered. You need a new s pen, about 2.3k at Samsung service centre. That sorted me out.
