I have a Note 9 that has horizontal lines show up on the screen.  Originally I thought it would be random times when the lines would show up, but I've now found they show up when the brightness of the screen is turned down. It also do disappear for hours for no reason.  I've restarted the phone and the problem always comes back.  The horizontal lines are not static and are always moving up and down (not scrolling).  If I take a screen shot of the phone, the lines are not present. Sending my phone into Samsung for 2 weeks to examine the phone was an option for me.  So I sent it to their service center. They did flash reset but it didn't work out. They replaced my LED panel which did not resolve the problem. And my warranty period is over now. Please advise me what to do next.

finally I guess they have updated in September, the same yellow screen issue, which started with my note 9 as well after their March 2020 update got fixed or seems to be fixed now in September 2020, but really a shame that Samsung did not acknowledge its their fault even after repeatedly reporting their service center here in Bangalore to report and check for solution in-house instead bluntly kept telling us to shell around $250 - $300 for screen replacement !!! I wonder how many users during this pandemic situation would have faced these terrible issues with their high end flagship phone as if the current pandemic was not giving them enough trouble reall a shame on Samsung responsibility to own and acknowledge their faults instead trying to push it under the carpet and now slowly trying to fix them!!!

Dear Samsung Support,

I am facing same issue on my S9 plus after the March 2020 update.  Either  it is due to the update or the update spoiled the hardware.

The issue is that when there are visible yellowish lines when the display brightness level is between 20% to 80%.   Because of this we are unable to use the auto brightness.

If this issue is not solved don't think that we are going to upgrade the phone to new one, but we will leave Samsung and move to other good brands which are trust worthy.

Best Regards,

Exactly same issue I am also facing, is this is a flagship phone? Samsung should be ashamed for this.

But I know they are shameless so I purchased a new phone, don't expect any solution from them.

Using note 9 as a kids toy now

Hi Vishwa - did you get a solution to this? I have had this issue on my Samsung Note 9 immediately after the expiry of the one year warranty. It happened randomly one fine day. I did not drop the phone (I am very careful in this regard) and was in fact using Samsung's original Note 9 case. When i took this to service centre, they immediately told me that display is damaged and I will have to replace the display, costing around 18k. I was aghast to hear that, when i insisted that I did not drop the phone and hence the display should not have been damaged, they shrugged their shoulders.
I decided to use the phone as it is. Then after 3-4 months of bad display, the horizontal lines suddenly vanished, and the phone's display was as sharp as before. Unfortunately this lasted for only a month. Since last 15 days again the lines are back and this time, the display is even worse.
I am finally left with no option but to replace the display. Interestingly, my colleague who has two Samsung 8 in her family said that she faced the same issue on both these phones, and she was pretty confident that the phones were not dropped and thus damaged.
Should I change the display? What is the guarantee that after changing display, this issue will not crop up again?
This is totally unexpected of the flagship device of Samsung, and I am unsure as to what to doScreenshot_20201030-140414_One UI Home.jpg

I have the same issue. It is intermittent. When I open an app that plays video, the screen is fixed and back to normal. Closing the app brings the lines back.
