Edge lighting is not working when the screen is off!

Edge lighting is not working when the screen is off.... I've tried turning it on and off.. tried to change the settings. Is there anything that makes it work?

Display > Edge Screen > select Edge Lighting (tap on the text not the toggle.

Then tap on Manage Notifications, and choose the apps you want to use Edge Lighting.
