That is edge panel and that's just awesome. u can open upto 7windows at once (2multi window and 5pop up windows)

just drag the apps from there and drop it on the screen and it will work.

If u drop the app in the middle of the screen then u will get a pop up and if somewhere else then a multi window(sometimes also full screen as some apps dont support multi window).

also there are many options there which u can customize.

Just click on the tiny settings option below and u can customize them.
