Whenever I make a call and move the phone away from my ear, it takes a few seconds for the display to turn on, which is not correct. I have a different phone and I don't have such a problem. Please solve this problem by updating the software.

The issue you're experiencing is known as "proximity sensor delay" or "screen wake-up delay." This can be frustrating, especially during calls.

Here are some potential causes and troubleshooting steps:

*Potential Causes*

1. *Proximity sensor issue*: The proximity sensor might be malfunctioning or slow to respond.
2. *Software glitch*: A software bug or glitch could be causing the delay.
3. *Display settings*: The display settings might be configured to delay the screen wake-up.

*Troubleshooting Steps*

1. *Restart your device*: A simple reboot can often resolve software-related issues.
2. *Check for software updates*: Ensure your device is running the latest software.
3. *Run a phone diagnostics available through this members forum*
4. *Adjust display settings*: Go to _Settings_ > _Display_ > _Screen timeout_ and adjust the screen timeout duration.
5. *Disable Power saving mode*: Go to _Settings_ > _Battery_ > _Power saving mode_ and toggle it off.
6. *Reset device settings*: Go to _Settings_ > _General management_ > _Reset_ > _Reset settings_.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it's possible that there's a hardware problem with your device's proximity sensor or display. You may want to visit a authorized service center for further assistance.

Dear Samsung Member,

Greetings from Samsung Customer Support!

As per your concern, we want to inform you that this is an expected behavior due to the proximity sensor installed under the display. It is designed to turn off the screen when you bring the phone close to your ear to prevent accidental touches. This feature helps enhance user experience and is not indicative of any issue with the device. If you are facing issue, kindly perform the following steps to resolve the issue.

Step 1. Open the Samsung Members app and select Get Support at the bottom of the screen.
Step 2. Tap View tests located under Diagnostics.
Step 3. Select Proximity recognition to automatically begin diagnostics.
Step 4. Follow the on-screen directions and put your palms close to, but not touching the top of the screen.
Step 5. After finishing diagnostics, you can immediately check your device status results on your screen.

Remove any accessories: Third-party protective films, cases, stickers, or glass screen protectors may block the sensor and should be removed. It is recommended to use Samsung Authorized accessories only.

Warm Regards,
Samsung Customer Support
