Samsung Galaxy M51 Review

I am giving this review after spending 20 days with this Phone. I am a retail user and after 6 year of redmi and realme user now buy the Samsung just because of Samsung+Snapdragon and very much disappointed. 

Phone Purchased on first day sale 18th Sept'2020 at Rs 23000 and within one month its going to be sale on amazon at Rs 22499 -1500=Rs20999  Discount on HDFC. 

Why price drop within one month ?

May be due to below reason : 

Here are some Pros and Cons which will help other user like me to decide whether they will buy it or not. 

Bugs or Software/Hardware issue :

1. Calling issue: While talking through ear piece on call, the person can hear my voice clearly. But if i put the call on loudspeaker, the receiver of call can't hear my voice or hear my sound very low. Turning back to earpiece the person is able to hear me again. (Problem occur frequently during the call but yes problem occur in almost all call).

2. Adaptive Brightness Issue : While watching movie video in this phone or playing video in youtube brightness fluctuate fast too much automatically.

3. The problem once faced is that suddenly only the calling sounds come through my Bluetooth headset but when I play any music, video, the voices do not come. I also checked the Bluetooth headset setting in this phone i.e. audio enabled for both call and video but problem not resolved. After hard reset phone bluetooth work fine.

4. No Carrier aggregation: Using Jio sim in Samsung M51 and realme X2 pro and both contain different net speed in which Samsung giving me 5mbps and realme x2 pro giving me 9-10mbps.

5. Camera Zoom quality is not good. When you focus on Sky whole pic turn into blue. i.e saturation level is too much high in this phone (Image attached).

***Reported all the bugs or issue mentioned above at samsung but they are giving me useless solutions instead of fixing there software bugs. If samsung india is reading this post then it js my earnest request to please fix all the above issue at the earliest******

Cons : 

1. Without using phone it take 2 hour to charge but when you use it frequently while Charging then it take 2.30-3 hour to charged it full from 0-100%.

2. 7000 Mah battery drained in 10-14 hour with non stop used including youtube, whatsapp Facebook, messaging, etc except game.(Maximum Screen on time received 14 hour approx).

3. NFC given but Samsung Pay or samsung mini not there in this phone.

4. Samsung said powered by Knox Security but there is no secure folder option. Don't know knox Security is there in this phone or not. Only Knox version is showing in about phone section.

5. No Haptic Feedback 

6. Low sound quality speaker at Rs 25K. If you are using ceiling fan in room then it is very difficult to hear the sound from this phone.

7. No apps lock features inbuilt.

8. No Case Cover in Box.

9. Cheap plain Plastic back design at 25K which attract too much scratches and fingers prints.

10.When Sealed Package open then phone display contain so much dust. Not expected the packaging like this from brand like Samsung. 

11. Gorila Glass 3 protection under 25k i.e out dated glass protection after using 2 days with full care i got one deep scratch mark on display. 

Pros : 

1. Super amoled plus display 

2. Camera quality Good 

3. 7000 Mah battery 

4. Till now Ram management is good.

5. No problem with weight of the phone. I don't feel any bulkyness. 

To much hype created every where for this phone and due to this many user like me has purchased this phone but this phone under 25k is really not value for money. Want to resale it but Price of this phone drop to 22499-1500=20999 on amazon's festive sale and due to this no one is giving me a better price.

Conclusion : Phone is overpriced and performance is average

Secure folder is not there because it is a One UI Core device, and Knox is not only about secure folder or Samsung Pay....

none of the samsung devices have built-in app lock...you have to install s secure for that ...... but no secure folder because it's still one ui core device

You firstly have done a mistake buying this M series phone. Because it has one ui core with lackings of so many useful feature. And yes, samsung is paying more attention on their high budget phones. Not on budget or mid budget phones. However,you have taken a right decision to sell this phone. There are so many options instead of this **bleep** phone. 😊

Not able to sale it because price drop to 22499 and also 1500 discount from bank on Amazon festive season. Every one is paying me 17-18K only :(

yes these cons that you mentioned are just tip of the iceberg.It has several heating issue on the upper portion of screen and at the back of camera section. Total waste of money . Samsung care is total **bleep**. No satisfactory reply given by them

network issues in M series is common issue.. according to known executive from Samsung care they are getting min 6+ M series devices per day with lot of issues and as a temporary solution they are reflashing firmware and replacing motherboard.
my friend bought same M51 from Amazon and he got wifi + bt issues 1st he placed replacement then 2nd device also has same issues he returned and got his refund..
me with M30s has network and connectivity issues from 4 months. no solution given by care.
