Hi All,
My dad's phone got updated to One UI 6.1 an hour ago. But right after the update, the touch got stopped working, tried all the ways to make it to function. Even tried resetting phone by pressing volume down and power button for 10sec for a force restart. Though restaring phone, touch was working for 3 to 5 seconds and again the same issue happening. Can anyone tell me how to fix the issue and make the touch to function as before. Phone was in good condition, only the problem is the touch is not working after the software update .

Boot into Safe Mode

Safe Mode disables third-party apps and only allows system apps to run. If the touch works fine in Safe Mode, it might indicate a conflict with an app installed on the phone.

Steps:

1. Turn off the phone.

2. Press and hold the Power button until the Samsung logo appears.

3. Immediately release the Power button and press and hold the Volume Down button until the phone fully boots up.

4. "Safe Mode" will appear in the bottom-left corner of the screen.

If the touch works in Safe Mode, uninstall any recently installed or updated apps that might be causing the issue.

2. Clear Cache Partition

The update may have caused a corrupted cache file. Clearing the cache partition can help.

Steps:

1. Turn off the phone.

2. Press and hold Volume Up + Power button (and Bixby button if available) until the recovery menu appears.

3. Use the Volume Down button to navigate to Wipe Cache Partition and select it with the Power button.

4. Once done, select Reboot System Now.

Try a factory reset using an OTG mouse; after the reset, the touchscreen should work fine. 💯 🛠 👍

N.B.: Don't forget to back up your important data or sync it with cloud storage for safekeeping. 💾 ☁️ 😉

Please click on 3 dots and accept my solution if it works for you.

The same thing happened to my mother's phone but it was responding to the touches for a few seconds after restarting, so I cleaned the data of samsung wallet and Uninstalled the updates and since the phone is working fine idk how that could be related to the touch problem tho 🤷‍♂️

To resolve the touch screen issue on your dad's Samsung Galaxy M14 after the One UI 6.1 update, try the following:

Troubleshooting Steps
1. *Boot in Safe Mode*: Press and hold the Power button until the phone restarts. Immediately release the Power button and hold the Volume down button. Keep holding until the phone boots up in Safe Mode.
2. *Perform a factory reset*: Go to Settings > General management > Reset > Factory data reset. This will erase all data, so ensure you have backed up important information.
3. *Calibrate the touch screen*: Go to Settings > Display > Touch sensitivity. Adjust the sensitivity and test the touch screen.
4. *Disable gesture navigation*: Go to Settings > Display > Navigation bar. Switch to the "Navigation buttons" option instead of gesture navigation.
5. *Check for firmware updates*: Go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

Advanced Troubleshooting
1. *Boot in Recovery Mode*: Press and hold the Volume up and Power buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds. Release the Power button but keep holding the Volume up button. Use the Volume down button to navigate to "Wipe cache partition" and select it.
2. *Perform a force restart*: Press and hold the Volume down and Power buttons simultaneously for 10-15 seconds.

Hardware-Related Checks
1. *Inspect the screen*: Check for any physical damage, scratches, or dirt on the screen.
2. *Clean the screen*: Gently clean the screen with a soft cloth and a small amount of water.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it's possible that there's a hardware problem. Visit a Samsung authorized service center for further assistance.
