What means root device....when I downloaded gsam battery monitor..it requires to root ...I don't understand  .if it's not, can't I use it??????

You will lose device warranty and security..google what rooting means in android

Nanduleon, don't try it, if you don't know what it's all about. Frankly, in the later Samsung phones, you really don't need to root your phone.

Rooting is the process of allowing users of the Android mobile operating system to attain privileged control over various Android subsystems. If u ask me i would not recommend rooting, u wil lose device warranty and security

Before 2015 ,After you root your phone you can literally do any thing you want like change fonts,customize phone,change ui from one ui to color os,color os to oxygen os ,ios etc.But in 2020 its no need of root because you can easily change fonts,customize yr phone through good lock,and all ui are same these days with same features.If you root your phone it might brick or be success om root.After root u lose warrenty,you wont recieve software updates etc.Its better to stay away from root
