Roaming icon not showing on my device

I am using SAMSUNG GALAXY M34 5G with the latest Android 15 & OneUI 7
I noticed that on the same phone model, with the same OS and UI version, some users are seeing the roaming icon ("R"), but on my device it doesn’t show — even when I am actually on roaming.

Roaming is enabled in settings.

Mobile data and calls work fine while roaming.


Same SIM in another phone shows the roaming icon.


Why is the roaming icon not showing on my device? Is it because of carrier/operator settings or something related to CSC (region-specific configuration)?
Is this normal, or should I be worried about a bug in my phone?

Stop worrying as long as the roaming works fine. This is a very minor glitch and does not affect phone's performance in anyway. Still if this is bothering you do a network reset. If this fails to bring up R symbol do a factory reset. Good luck !

Please reset all settings of your's device in general management settings also Flight ✈️ mode on n off one time also reset network setting of both Sim one by one also optimize your's device in device care too also clear catche of all apps manually also update your's all apps too also restart your's device without any Sim in slots also interchange Sim in slots then try to it's again. Jio never show roaming but airtel always shows roaming. Without roaming icon you can get better battery life and avoid turning on data roaming.

Similar issue found for me is that using vi Sim always showing roaming in any network mode in which sim is belong to same circle but this issue is resolved after changing the Vi Sim.
