Could be the connecting ribbon got loosened. Do go for for repair. In case of previously touch/ screen being replaced by non samsung repair centre the part may not have gotten registered to device.
I don't think it is lose ribbon issue since it opens random menus upon touch. For example, if I touch chrome then it opens some settings option. If I click on restart, shutdown button nothing happens.
