How to reduce temperature while charging?

Is it safe to put phone on a slightly water dampened cotton cloth while charging to reduce temperature??Friend suggested me the water condenses inside and might damage the device.Is it true?Nowadays it's too hot to left off while charging.Is there any other way to reduce temperature

Ohhh nooo. Damp can cause harm to your device. Remove the back cover, you may turn off fast charging if you can, shut down the device, or stop background apps from running and consuming both battery and RAM

Hey guys just for the info.. There was a problem with my boat branded cable.. It was defective.Replaced it in warranty period and now I'm happy. No thermal while charging. So guys if you experience heating while charging, pls consider checking your data cable.
