i think i found a solution here guys.

Mine is A30. I noticed that when i rum the dark mode with battery saving OFF i don't get battery drain and no camera light sensor appear on the battery stats.

I think it also has something to do with Always On Display as it also uses ambient light to increase or decrease its brightness at night. So turning off AOD might also help.

I have this same issue - I have an XCover Pro and for the longest time the adaptive brightness did not work, now they fixed it sucked down 65% of battery yesterday!!  

Samsung fix this!!
