Akhund Mullah Masjid situated below the Makhdum Sahib Shrine on the foothills of Koh-e-Maran, (Hari Parbat) Srinagar is a mosque built by Mughal Crown Prince Dara Shikoh in 1649 for his spiritual mentor Mullah Akhund Shah. The mosque built with grey limestone is considered to be a mosque within a mosque, the prime sanctuary is entirely separated from the main building through a courtyard that surrounds it.
