There is no native network speed display feature on Samsung phones. Please add one, Mi phones already support them natively.

With an ability to disable this feature, please. I don't want it to take up status bar space and hog my CPU/memory all the time. But, I may need it sometime to double check my speeds too.

Exactly. I'm the kind of guy who even turns off battery percentage!
