hello all
i have been using this phone for a year now & im suddenly experience touch problems and the phones side buttons refusing to react after pressing attempts
the device is constantly glitching & freezing, the keyboard is freezing right now as I type this

I am exhausted with having to deal with this, they told me its my screen protector & I got that removed however the problems still persist
others say it's due to the new one ui 7.0 update, that could be true

I think it's a hardware issue within the device, i dont think this phone will reach new year but we will see.

I have restarted it, honestly tired of restarting it now, I know quite plenty about cellphones but nothing is working
even frequently clearing the ram in device care
feels like it's a ticking time bomb at this point

what i haven't done is the factory reset because of my things inside the phone
i dont wanna lose them

i really hope samsung fixes up these issues because it's get to a point.

Hi purplerosion
I can really hear how exhausted and fed up you are — dealing with a phone that fights you every minute is mentally draining, especially when you’ve already tried what they suggested.

Let me be very honest and clear with you.

---

From what you’re describing, this does NOT sound like just software anymore

These symptoms together are a big red flag for hardware failure:

Touch becoming unresponsive / erratic

Keyboard freezing while typing

Phone randomly glitching and freezing

Side buttons needing multiple presses or not responding at all

👉 Software bugs (like One UI 7.0) can cause lag and app crashes,
but they almost never cause physical buttons to stop responding.

That’s the key point.

---

About the screen protector excuse

You already proved them wrong:

Screen protector removed ✔

Problems still happening ✔

So that explanation is officially invalid.

---

Most likely causes (ranked)

1️⃣ Failing touch digitizer (very common after ~1 year)

Causes ghost touches

Delayed or frozen keyboard

Random unresponsiveness

2️⃣ Side-button flex cable or power key wear

Explains why volume / power buttons don’t respond properly

This is 100% hardware, not One UI

3️⃣ Internal board instability (heat + budget device reality)

Entry-level phones are more vulnerable after updates

Heat + memory stress over time = instability

---

About One UI 7.0

Yes — it can worsen things, but:

> An update does not break physical buttons.

At most, it exposes an already-weak hardware component.

So people saying “it’s only the update” are seeing half the picture.

---

Quick tests (no stress, just to confirm)

If you have the energy, try one of these:

🔹 Safe Mode test

Power button → hold → Safe Mode

If the phone still freezes and buttons fail → hardware confirmed

🔹 Samsung diagnostics (if accessible)

Dial: *#0*#

Test Touch and Key

If they fail or lag → undeniable proof

If the phone freezes even doing these, that itself is the answer.

---

What I strongly advise now

Back up everything immediately

Photos, WhatsApp, contacts — do not delay this

Do NOT waste energy on:

More resets

More protectors

Cache wipes

Blaming yourself

You’ve done enough.

---

Reality check (spoken gently)

You’re not wrong when you say:

> “I don’t think this phone will reach New Year.”

Based on experience, you’re probably right — and that’s not your failure.
Some devices simply don’t age well, especially after major updates.
