Today I tried to flash stock ROM of galaxy A21S and got a failed message in Odin, after that I rebooted the phone to try another time but I am unable to enter the download or recovery mode and the phone doesn't start. Whenever I try to start the device or boot to download mode it keeps rebooting itself with a note on the upper left of the screen showing "TAG LOCK is not set". I have tried all the key combinations and also tried keeping volume button pressed while connecting it to the computer but it doesn't help. Please help how to get rid of this.

i think something went wrong do visit service centre its better for you

1st thing how did you enter download mode..
From recovery or using USB..

If you are trying to use recovery to get into download mode then 1s try this method.

Force reboot device by key combo vol down and power.
When screen turns black immediately press vol up and down at a time with inserting usb cable( USB cable must be connected to your pc) . You can take help from others if you can't do immediately.

This process is to enter download mode. Check Knox Gaurd (KG) status there if you successfully get into download mode. And now try reflashing again...

I'm just suggesting you this for troubleshooting.


If not please visit service center or nearby shop.

Odin is not a simple tool to just try it on personal devices.. If you don't have knowledge on flashing and really wanted to try you should have done it in any old device 1st for just practicing.. But still i dont suggest doing that on your own if you never done it before.

I am not that newbie to flash ROMs. I have flashed multiple times on multiple devices of almost every company handset. I have bricked many times but fortunately able to reflash the stock ROM almost everytime. But this thing happened to me first time that I can't enter download/recovery mode. In other devices ADB works even if it's bricked and in this case Samsung's download mode. But thanks for your reply and time, I'll try once again. I also lost my bill/warranty card and this is why I haven't visited service center.  P.S : it's not my primary driver. 🙂

@Audacious now a days, service centre didn't ask for bill or warranty card, so don't worry if you are not going for this reason
