For the past 15 years, I've been a loyal Samsung user, not just me but my entire family as well. We have at least 6-7 Samsung phones among us, and all our appliances are from Samsung too. Even my personal laptop proudly bears the Samsung logo. Our experiences with Samsung products have always been positive, and we've come to trust the brand for its reliability and quality. However, my experience with the Samsung Galaxy A71, which I purchased in February 2021, has left me questioning that trust. A few months after buying the phone, I noticed some spots on the screen where the touch stopped working. I went to the service center, and they replaced the display free of cost. But within a few months, the issue reappeared, and the display had to be replaced again. Despite using the phone gently, without a single scratch on the display, I recently noticed a white line appearing on the screen after a software update in July. The phone had never been dropped, and nothing unusual had happened to it. When I went to the service center, they initially claimed that I must have dropped the device. I considered that perhaps the phone had simply reached the end of its life, being an electronic device after all. I began contemplating an upgrade to the Samsung S24. However, while browsing the Samsung Members app, I discovered that many other customers were facing the same problem, not just with the Galaxy A71 but also with the S24. This revelation shattered my trust in Samsung. When I returned to the service center and explained the situation, they continued to deny any fault on Samsung's part. They offered to replace the display for around ₹8,000 but only provided a three-month warranty. This made me wonder—what if the issue recurs after three months? Am I expected to change the display every few months? A warranty, not a guarantee, seems like a short-term solution to a recurring problem. Now, I'm at a crossroads. Should I take the risk of repairing my current device or invest in the Samsung S24, despite the troubling reports? Or is it time to consider moving to iOS? I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences, especially from fellow Samsung users. What would you do in my situation?

I too have an experience similar to you. My faith upon them is shaken and I have learnt my lesson that never buy all products of same brand. We ourselves think that we are loyal consumers however the brand does not care and values repeat business.
If internet is to be believed than the revelations are shocking that brands themselves cause malfunctioning in the devices through software updates so that customers either buys a new phone or they get service revenue through repairs.

It's clear if it's one time, then it's a miss (faulty displays and green lines in 2022). If it is repetitive as we see this year, then they are not doing it right (not learning from their mistakes or not bothered to).

At least Apple is conscious about its brand image and doesn't hurriedly push bad updates out. Sure, I have loved Samsung enough, but it's only starting to hurt.

This is coming from another loyalist like you, and the pain is real.

Writing this from a former flagship device that now has a lush green line flouting itself of doomed Samsung updates.

Same here, had a samsung galaxy j7 max for 6.5 yrs which is still working. Because of its performance bought S20 FE which failed to boot after software update in 1.5 yrs. Thought one of a kind and didnot bother much. Got A53 5G snd after just 1.2 yrs, in the last update in august failed to boot, service centre says motherboard issue which needs to be paid for. Paying for A or S series within 2 years or buying new ones do not make sense at all. Customer care is absolutely non responsive. Service centre guys are pathetic.
