Is it best to use battery protection mode for charging or should i stop charging when the phone reaches 80% by turning the charger off?
Which is better for battery?

The reason why i ask is that when i charge to 80% using battery protection mode the phone immediately drops to 79% without even using.

I use A55 5g

Anyone please replay

You should always use battery protection cz in long term it's useful.
Battery percentage immedietly drops 80% to 79% cz you can read 80%protection plan again it says that charging will stop at 80%so basically it full charge to 79%only and on 80%it power cut the charging simple commonsense my friend.

Dear Samsung Member,

Greetings from Samsung Customer Support!

As per your query, we want to inform you that the Protect protection features optimize battery lifespan and performance while ensuring safety. These features include an adaptive battery, battery saver mode, power management, fast and wireless charging, and overheat protection.

By default, the battery protection function in Samsung is turned off, but when enabled, it limits the battery charging up to 85% to improve the overall lifespan of the battery. If you prefer to charge your battery up to 100%, you can turn off the battery protection function.

However, we want to inform you that this is the concept of a device, the battery percentage immediately drops from 80% to 79% because, as you can read in the 80% protection plan, it says that charging will stop at 80%. So basically, it fully charges to 79% only. When it reaches 80%, the power cuts off the charging. Although, If you have other concerns regarding Samsung products kindly feel free to get in touch with us if there is any issue regarding the Samsung.

Warm Regards,
Samsung Customer Support
