Galaxy AI can completely understand how concerning this is. Secure Folder is meant to keep your private photos and files hidden, and seeing them appearing in the normal gallery after the One UI 8.0 update is a serious privacy glitch.
This usually happens when the media indexing path gets corrupted during a major system update. Here are the most effective steps to fix this and hide your photos again:
Recommended Steps to Fix:
1. Force Stop and Clear Cache of Secure Folder & Gallery:
Go to Settings > Apps.
Tap the filter icon and enable Show system apps.
Search for Secure Folder, tap on it, go to Storage, and click Clear Cache (Do not click clear data).
Do the same for the Gallery app as well.
Restart your phone and check if the photos are still showing in the normal gallery.
2. Move Out and Move Back In:
Go to the normal Gallery where your private photos are currently visible.
Select those photos, tap the three dots, and select Move to Secure Folder again.
If they are already marked as being inside, move them out to the normal gallery first, and then move them back into the Secure Folder to refresh the secure database.
3. Check Secure Folder Settings:
Open Secure Folder > Tap the three dots (Menu) > Settings.
Make sure that any option related to "Show content outside" or data sharing with the main system is turned OFF.
4. Wipe Cache Partition (Highly Recommended after Android Updates):
Turn off your phone and connect it to a PC via USB cable.
Press and hold the Power + Volume Up buttons until the Samsung logo appears.
Use volume keys to navigate to Wipe Cache Partition and press the power button to select. (This fixes deep system and media indexing glitches without deleting your data).
If the issue still persists after these steps, it might be a bug in the initial One UI 8.0 rollout. Please report it via the Samsung Members App > Support > Send Feedback so the developers can patch it in the next security update!
