Hello,Safety net test is a  feature used by Google to detect whether the device is rooted or not.Due to rooting a device a safety net fails which will block you from using Android pay,Banking apps etc. This is because rooting a phone creates many security loopholes,so google blocks a rooted device from using these apps.

Android devices offer a “SafetyNet API,” which is part of the Google Play Services layer installed on Google-approved Android devices. This API “provides access to Google services that help you assess the health and safety of an Android device,” according to Google.
if your phone is rooted them many times saftynet status may fail.
in normal language something of google play services that provides security against security issues is saftynet.
