Galaxy ADear Samsung Member,
Greetings from Samsung Customer Support!
As per your concern, we would request you kindly perform the following steps.
● Install Smart Switch:
⁕ Download Smart Switch for your computer from the Smart Switch page. This page also provides links to install Smart Switch on your mobile device. Ensure Smart Switch is installed on both your computer and phone before proceeding.
⁕ Android Requirements: Android 4.3 or higher (Android 7.0 or higher for encrypted data transfer).
⁕ iOS Requirements: iOS 5 or higher (cable transfer); iOS 12 or higher (Wi-Fi transfer).
⁕ Mac Requirements: macOS 10.9 or later.
⁕ Windows Requirements: Windows 10 or later.
● Create a Backup:
⁕ Connect your phone to your computer using a USB cable. Tap Allow on your phone.
⁕ Open Smart Switch on your computer and click Backup. This may take several minutes.
⁕ Once complete, click OK. If your computer lacks a USB-C port, use a USB OTG adapter with your USB cable. Many cables require this adapter. However, a lightning to USB-C or USB-C to USB-C cable will work without an adapter.
● Default Save Location:
Backed-up files are automatically saved in a default location (unless specified otherwise). The default locations are:
⁕ Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Samsung\Smart Switch PC
⁕ Windows 10: C:\Users\[username]\Documents\Samsung\SmartSwitch
⁕ Mac OS X: /Users/[username]/Documents/Samsung/SmartSwitch/backup
Note: To quickly access the AppData folder, click Start, type "appdata" in the search bar, and press Enter.
● Transfer Content:
Note: To quickly access the AppData folder, click Start, type "appdata" in the search bar, and press Enter.
⁕ Temporarily disable your firewall, antivirus, anti-spyware, anti-malware, and other security tools on your PC to facilitate file transfer.
⁕ Open Smart Switch on your computer. Connect your new Galaxy phone using the USB cable. The Smart Switch screen will appear.
⁕ Click Restore. Optionally, click Select your backup data to choose specific data. Click Restore now. Once complete, click OK.
Note: You may need to allow permissions on your phone to complete the backup.
Sync With Outlook App:⁕ PC: Click Outlook Sync. Sign in with your Microsoft Outlook credentials (if necessary). Click Sync Preferences for Outlook, select your sync options, click OK, then Sync Now, and finally Confirm.
⁕ Mac: Click Sync. Choose content to sync, click Sync Now, and then Confirm.
Warm Regards,
Samsung Customer Support
