Hi all,

I'm occasionally getting moisture content detected warning on my A53 and what bothers me the most is the phone didn't come close to the water or moisture recently.

The phone is IP76 water-resistant right?

The pop-up comes out of nowhere when I have to do a quick top-up at home or when trying to charge it in the car.

What should I do?
Should I take it to the service center?
Is it a manufacturing defect with my piece?

Any suggestions from our beloved members are highly appreciated.

Please see the screenshots for further clarification

Get recent software flashed from service center(but don't 4gt to take backup of files/images and other important stuffs). This might be due to some glitch(if its going automatically) or once dry your device properly and check..Screenshot_20221017-163038_Samsung Internet_1000005956_1666004466.png

Gently clean your USB port.
Don't place your phone near AC vent or cooler.

Now it's gone automatically.

The hardware detect water by sensing current flow between the contact pads. If there is any electrolyte or metallic salts present in the port, it can cause the issue. Why don't you use clean water to clean your charging port (if your phone is IP rated). It the error is still happening or if the phone is not IP rated, use isopropyl alcohol to clean. It should fix the issue.

It's IP67 rated.

Thanks for your time. Will try what you have mentioned if it appears again

Why don't you book an appointment with samsung to check if the product doesn't have water ingress?

Because the first thing they are going to say is let's do a software reset and my past experience with Samsung after sales is not that great with all Exynos 9611 fiasco.

It is only the last resort
