MMS on SIM 2 not received when SIM 1 is activated for data

Can anyone help me out or clear my doubt? I have activated data on SIM 2. But I am not able to receive any MMS or RCS message on SIM 1. 
Can't one receive RCS or MMS on both SIMs irrespective of which SIM connects to internet?
