Grip sensor... What is the use of it...!!

While navigating options in *#0*# I came through Grip sensor and I found it doing nothing except a blank display with Release written in green colour. If anyone knows here about it please share.

its for on hand detection.. you can test it by holding phone with some pressure.. and release it....

Tried but didn't find any change is Release status.
