I don't think it has anything to do with 2.5 cos my fb account got dark mode when my device was still running on 2.0.And no it wasn't the BETA version

FB app got dark mode long ago. there are 2 chances

1. dark mode in FB app set to device mode. so, when you keep device in dark mode changed in app also.

2. maybe recent fb app made dark mode as priority. you can change it in app.
