There are several solutions for a static Dynamic Lock Screen on your Galaxy A16 5G after a software update, ranging from simple fixes to more involved steps.

1. Re-enable Dynamic Lock Screen

Sometimes, an update can cause a setting to become disabled or glitch.

Go to Settings > Wallpaper > Wallpaper services.

Tap on Dynamic Lock screen.

Tap the Settings gear icon next to it.

If it is on, try tapping None and then re-enabling Dynamic Lock screen to refresh it.

2. Download a new category pack

Your previously downloaded image packs may be corrupted or stuck.

Go to Settings > Wallpaper > Wallpaper services > Dynamic Lock screen.

Tap on Select category and download a different image pack, such as "Plants" or "Animals".

Make sure you have a stable internet connection (Wi-Fi recommended) for the download.

3. Uninstall and reinstall the feature

Uninstalling and reinstalling Dynamic Lock Screen can resolve temporary issues where the images are not appearing correctly.

Go to Settings > Wallpaper.

Tap Change wallpaper.

Scroll to the bottom and tap Dynamic Lock screen under "Wallpaper services".

Tap the More options (three vertical dots) in the top-right corner, and then tap Uninstall.

After uninstalling, return to the same location to re-download and reinstall your desired category.

4. Restart your phone

A soft reset can fix minor software glitches that occur after an update.

Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons simultaneously.

Continue holding them for about 10 seconds until the phone restarts.

5. Check "Reduce animations"

If this accessibility feature is enabled, it can interfere with the dynamic lock screen animations.

Navigate to Settings > Accessibility > Visibility enhancements.

Tap on Reduce animations.

Ensure that this setting is toggled off.

6. Clear the cache partition

Corrupted temporary files can cause issues after a software update. Clearing the cache partition is a safe way to remove these files without erasing your personal data.

Power off your phone.

Press and hold the Power and Volume Up buttons simultaneously.

Release the buttons when the Samsung logo appears to boot into Recovery Mode.

Use the volume keys to navigate to Wipe cache partition and the power button to select it.

Confirm the action and then reboot your system.

Go to the lock screen editor and apply one of Samsung’s decorative frames around your subject. The dynamic clock will almost start working. Once you do that, you can switch back to the original wallpaper (without the frame).
