My router is a dual band router which provide both 2.4 and 5 Ghz band. My A22 is connected to 2.4 Ghz band by default. Will i be able to upgrade to 5 Ghz wifi band in my phone.

Check the specs of ur phone on website, does it have 5Ghz for sure?.
And also put the router to 5Ghz mode only if ur phone has same, usually routers just use the standard that's most common ie 2.4.

Check which SSID you're connected to. Make sure you get connected to 5ghz one. If you mean A225g then it does support 5ghz WiFi
