📌 [Issue] One UI 6.1 System Freeze After Mobile Data Ends While Streaming – Possible Cause for One UI 7 Delay on A34 5G

Device: Galaxy A34 5G
Current Version: One UI 6.1
Status: Critical UI/System Freeze
Suspected Trigger: Mobile Data Limit Reached During Spotify Streaming

Hi Members,

I’ve encountered a major system freeze twice now on my Galaxy A34 5G running One UI 6.1, and I believe this might be one of the reasons behind the delay of One UI 7 for our device.

Here’s what happened:

While listening to Spotify on mobile data (daily cap: 1.5 GB), everything worked smoothly until my data limit was reached. Spotify kept playing for about 2 more minutes, then stopped suddenly.

  • Tapped the media notification — no response.
  • Tried reopening Spotify — app wouldn’t open.
  • Swiped up to the app drawer and back — and shockingly, Spotify’s UI replaced my wallpaper.
  • After that, the entire system became unstable.

Issues faced:

  • Home screen & lock screen completely froze along with not getting unlocked
  • Power and restart were unresponsive
  • Long-pressing the side key and choosing Restart or Power Off showed animation, but it just returned to the lock screen — nothing actually happened

This appears to be a serious bug with system stability when data access ends during active streaming, possibly tied to One UI 6.1’s app handling or network state transitions.

If Samsung is taking time to roll out One UI 7 for the A34 5G, this kind of issue might be one of the main reasons — and I’d personally prefer a delay with stability, rather than a rushed, buggy update.

Is anyone else facing similar issues?

Update the app and stop putting data limit there. If possible, use Wi-Fi instead of mobile data to stream.

However, this is not the reason behind One UI 7.0 delay. It was the Mediatek processor issue.
