for starters, keep the aspect ratio to 3:4, not full screen to keep the maximum ammount of resolution. you can use scene optimizer for suggestions and automatic adjustments for your shots. you dont need to change anything in pro mode, since its for professional photographers to change the settings for very specific scenarios, changing them isnt required for every day use, or good shots, keeping everything on auto is the best option you can set.
