Hello from the camera in-charge!
How does the future of Expert RAW look? I would love for the expert raw app to keep receiving love and attention as the primary expert camera app from Samsung even after 10 or 20 years. But no one knows what the future holds. Thus, we strive and put as many hours and efforts as needed.
We have synergized Expert RAW and Nightography, which has brought a marked improvement in color, noise, etc. of pictures taken in low light. And, this is not all. We have also redesigned and released the Digital ND feature out of expert camera features. ND filter allows long exposure even under luminous conditions, thus making it possible to capture the flow of water in a waterfall or waves in its natural glory.
This feature is available as a beta service for S23 customers, who have upgraded to One UI 6.0. All supported models and their release dates are under review and will be announced once the beta period is over.
We want to unveil ‘Nightography’ in the expert RAW app, one of Galaxy camera’s pivotal features that give it an edge over others. (Link: Nightography - Samsung Members)
The modified AI based noise reduction algorithm helps capture more of the natural details under low light conditions and brings down the level of noise in pictures. Experience new and improved picture quality with Expert RAW’s low light pictures.
ND (Neutral Density) filter tones down the intensity of light filtering through the camera lens evenly. ND Filter feature can also cut down the light filtering in on an extremely bright day shooting environment and enable soft delicate shots of waterfalls and capture the natural motion of water using long exposure.
The extended shutter speed with the ND Filter makes for soft, rounded, cloud-like motion capture of waterfalls or waves. We provide 10 different types of Digital ND filters in Expert RAW (2 / 4 / 8 / 16 / 32 / 64 / 128 / 256 / 512 / 1000) for you to choose from. Now, you can do away with buying expensive ND filters and get the same shooting experience with the ND Filter feature.
The configuration that you have to look out for the most in ND Filter is the ISO, SPEED (exposure time) and the ND Filter intensity. Once you go to ND Filter, all these three configurations have to be dealt with manually. People using the pro mode may be a little more used to the manual configuration, but it’s alright even if you aren’t. You can shoot suitably bright pictures with the help of the EV value at the top of the shutter button.
Try out the ND Filter feature and take pictures in rich and versatile shooting environments. ND Filter will pull you to the realm of the imaginative by letting you take creative shots.
We have also prepared a guide for easy use of this feature.
We also intend to upgrade the quality of Digital ND feature to a full-fledged official version in the next one. There are other pro image quality updates in the works, so you can anticipate capturing clear and detailed pictures easily with the Expert RAW app in sometime.
We are also updating the usability continuously. Stay tuned!
