First of all, there settings that has to be done for this to happen.
1. Go to settings
2. Scroll down and tap "Security and privacy"
3. Go into "lost device protection"
4. Tap "Find my mobile"

Make sure that you have logged in with your Samsung account (not gmail, not facebook, not student)
Therefore enable these things:
Allow this phone to be found
Send last location
Offline finding

When these things are one, you will be able to locate your device from another device if it is not near you or lost.
So far, follow those steps just to be safe and please, a like ❤️ would make my day. I will come back with further details on what to do when you want to find your phone.

You forgot to mention that the phone to be located needs an internet connection, the GPS need to stay on & you need to visit the Samsung SmartThings Find website or use the Samsung Find app on another device to locate the lost device. That's the Samsung part.

Now, the Google part. Look for Find Hub & enable it in Settings>Google>All services tab>Find Hub

Download and install Google's Find Hub app from the Play Store on another device to locate a lost device.

Note: Log in with the same Samsung/Google account as the one that's signed on the lost device on the device that will be used to find the lost device.
