Samsung notes

So say you lost your galaxy phone & want to change to a different brand.. But you want access your Samsung notes how do you retrieve them?

I'm noticing it won't be possible unless you get another galaxy phone to sync your notes from the original Samsung notes app. 

So what do you guys use for note taking that can communicate cross platform with other androids q
