Samsung updates typically don’t disable dual SIM functionality unless there’s a technical issue or a mismatch with the firmware installed on the phone. If your Galaxy A33 or S21 Ultra is now only detecting a single SIM, here are possible reasons and solutions:
with Galaxy
Sometimes, updates designed for single SIM variants are mistakenly installed on dual SIM models, causing the second SIM slot to become non-functional.

Verify the software version and region by navigating to Settings > About Phone > Software Information. Check if the firmware matches your region and is intended for a dual SIM variant. If not, you may need to re-flash the correct firmware using tools like Samsung Odin. Seek professional assistance if you're not familiar with this process.

Certain updates may lock the phone to a specific carrier or restrict dual SIM use, depending on your region or carrier agreement.

Contact Samsung Support or your carrier to confirm if the update caused this issue and whether they can provide a fix.

A software bug or hardware issue might prevent the phone from detecting both SIM cards.

Insert both SIM cards into the phone and test them in different configurations (e.g., swapping SIM slots).

If only one SIM slot is working, check for physical damage or debris in the slot.

Updates can sometimes reset network or SIM settings, disabling the second SIM.

Go to Settings > Connections > SIM Card Manager and check if both SIM cards are enabled.

Restart the phone after making changes.

If the issue persists after troubleshooting, you might need to revert to a previous version of the firmware or reinstall the current one.

Back up your data and perform a factory reset.

If this doesn’t work, flash the original firmware for your device model and region using Samsung Odin.

If none of the above resolves the issue, contact a Samsung Service Center for diagnosis and further assistance
