I am considering getting a new watch6 LTE variant as my watch4 went faulty.

I use airtel prepaid due to better network coverage in my area.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I found some online posts claiming that for the watch, Airtel provides esim service only for postpaid customers.

So my options here are either convert to airtel postpaid or port to jio which provides esim with prepaid.

I am also thinking of converting to airtel postpaid for now and convert back to prepaid after a month or two while retaining the esim service.

Please advice if anyone has faced something similar on how you went around this.

Thanks

Nah you cannot retain Esim.Once you convert back to AirTel Prepaid Esim on watch will not work

Then you must go AirTel Postpaid way.No other option.Either go Jio Prepaid or else AirTel Postpaid on same number

eSIM is available for prepaid in Airtel. Try activating through Airtel thanks app. If this fails go to Airtel store.
If you do yourself you will need WiFi connection during transition to eSIM.

Hi,
That would be separate sim i think, and I would have to buy separate data packs for watch and phone.
I am talking about the scenario of having the same number on watch and phone, using the same data pack.

Esim is not available for watch's from AirTel for Prepaid customer. If you want to use Esim on watch from AirTel then you need to have AirTel Postpaid Sim.But with Jio both Prepaid/Postpaid sim works

Actually, in my personal experience, Jio has lesser network coverage relative to airtel. Which is why i am trying to find any longterm alternative to Jio.

So Jio is my only solution now if i want cellular in watch ?
