WearablesI used my Samsung Watch 4 while swimming for about 10 minutes. A few moments later the watch stopped working and the screen went off. As per Samsungs official information, the watch has 5ATM+IP68/MIL-STD-810G specifications. It should be able to withstand up to 50 meters of equivalent pressure for up to 30 minutes. I used it for not more than 10 minutes on the surface of the water.
If the watch is equipped with such standard water-resistant technology and given a dedicated feature to track swimming activities, I am wondering how such a case happened to me.
From my conversation with Samsung team, they say "IP rating of a product does not qualify its water resistance quality". its not just IP, watch also got 5ATM pressure resistance.
Don't use the watch for swim tracking. @Samsung, kindly have your watches tested well.
