Don't you do calls on what's app or Skype or msngr.. if your net dropped then this wi fi calling features help your device to connect with wi fi so ur call can not dropped or enhanced quality.. then you can manage to talk..
Skype is uses VoIP, Wifi calling uses VoWifi also similar to VoLTE, it allows you to call over any wifi network using your normal phone number. It is currently not supported by any network in India.
